5 must-have Android apps

As of January 2015 there are approximately 1.43+ million apps on the Google Play store, but some apps definitely stand out above the rest.

Here are my 5 must-have mobile apps that you should install on your mobile phone.

1. TeamViewer

The application that every IT support technician depends on, and what every person who have ever needed to help out friends and family now and again knows and loves. TeamViewer lets you remotely control another computer from your own computer. The mobile app allows you to remotely control a computer from your phone.

2. FastCustomer

FastCustomer is an awesome app that deals with the hassle of customer service for you. It calls the relevant customer service number, navigates the phone tree, saves you a place in line and then calls you when there’s a real person to talk to. No more dealing with computer voices on the phone!

3. Zombies, Run!

Zombies, Run!

Zombies, Run! is an audio storybook app that tracks your running pace. You join a post-apocalyptic group and go on missions to gather intel and supplies. The app sees how fast you’re running and during certain times, zombies chase you and you need to run a certain speed to escape. Also uses your playlists to interject music between story broadcasts.

4. Pushbullet

Install the Chrome extension with this app and you gain the ability to have your phone’s notifications mirrored to your computer. Send files and other info easily from and to your computer, even reply to text messages from computer. Absolutely impossible to go back after using it.

5. Out of Milk

Out of Milk

My favourite shopping list app, which works extra well if you have a significant other that you do shopping with. Add items to your shopping list, grouped by shop, and it syncs across your phones. So, if either of you happen to be passing by a shop, you can just pop in and get everything, and tick everything off, and the items will disappear on both devices.
